I'll dominate 'credible combatant' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-bout contest which will be shown live on the streaming platform.

British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "stamp all over" the American and "overpower" his opponent as the combatants came face-to-face to promote next month's bout.

Former two time unified heavyweight champion Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Boxer's Mentality

"I'm going to injure his face and damage his physique. My goal is to show my superiority," the British boxer, 35 years old, said.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I will genuinely try to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."

Civil Exchange

In spite of these statements, a composed Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - usually recognized for his showmanship - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.

Jake Paul rather targeted former Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "a joke" after Ngannou declined a match opportunity.

Targeting Fury

Anthony Joshua, at the same time, criticized UK rival Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a Paul win.

"Jake Paul outshines Tyson Fury - he showed up," Joshua stated.

"I give him credit for that."

Serious Fighter

Despite saying he intends to punish Paul, Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his opponent's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he said.

Jake Paul's Background

Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.

He lost to Briton Fury in 2023.

Financial Success

Nevertheless, the novice is still one of the sport's largest money-making draws, consistently making huge financial rewards.

Prediction and Belief

The 28-year-old forecast a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would prevent the much-anticipated match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently in the works for 2026.

"The next fight will be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul stated.

Size Disparity

As the two fighters met for the usual stare-down, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it drove home just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the bout is actually happening.
