The star has given the entirety of his twenty-five thousand pound award winnings to the Music Venues Trust, which operates to save the United Kingdom's small music venues.
Fender was presented with the award on mid-October as his new release his work was declared the top album of the past year.
He has chosen to hand the money over to the MVT, in recognition of the essential function local spots fulfilled in his beginning days.
"As an artist would not have achieved my current career if it hadn't been for all the performances I played around the North East, and beyond, when I was beginning," said the artist. "These spaces are legendary, but they are in difficulty."
Since the start of 2023, over 150 of these locations have shut down – approximately 16% of the whole industry in the UK.
Over the past year, well-known musicians such as the band Pulp, the group Coldplay, Katy Perry and Ed Sheeran have all backed the Music Venues Trust in its initiatives to help venues survive, by including a modest fee to their admission fees, which goes to help smaller concert halls.
Sam Fender also participated, generating over £100k on his 2024 arena tour to assist 38 small stages across Britain.
The donation supported spaces that were dealing with imminent closure due to issues caused by flooding, fires and bereavements, as well as permit problems, legal disputes and noise complaints.
Some locations obtained funding support in upgrading amenities and sound and lighting systems that directly benefitted musicians and concertgoers.
"The concept that funds from concerts in big venues supports the local stages, where it begins for musicians like me, is just common sense," Fender has commented.
Fender is among several artists to contribute his award prize money to charitable organizations.
In they won the award in the year 1996 for their record their work, frontman Cocker declared that the act would contribute their prize money to the charity the charity.
That year, artist Ms Dynamite shared her award among several good causes, including the children's charity and a charity for Sickle Cell.
"Additionally, I gave a £1,000 to my local community centre, to their classes, because I trained in gymnastics when I was growing up and they needed new equipment," the artist shared with outlets.
Two years ago, they contributed their winnings to the youth organization that nurtured their band, as well as other independent music bodies.
Also the 1994 recipients the group donated their winnings to a charity for MS after a friend was diagnosed the illness.
"Receiving the award was sufficient," said vocalist the singer. "The money was the cherry on top but we could do without the extra, because we had the honor. So our success touched another person's life."
Last week, the MVT shared it had rescued several local spots in that region, by bringing them into local control.
One venue in Southampton and the second in that location were bought under the public acquisition program, which is backed by Arts Council England and supporters who purchase "stakes" in the properties.
